Summary of April 2021

Fortunately, with the diary, summarizing like this is not too difficult, but it still took a day. I am not the kind of person who doesn't repay debts, but the reality is that I have too many things I want to do and am doing. To be honest, I didn't schedule writing this summary into my agenda, which means I don't consider it as a "debt."

Did I set any goals last month? It seems not. It should have been something arranged at the last team meeting, but I wasn't present at the last meeting, so I didn't know about it. Conflicts between team meetings, group meetings, party meetings, and STAR team meetings have been going on for a long time. I have always wanted to resolve them, but the collective plan cannot bend to my personal plan, so I had to give up. When there is a conflict, I choose to attend the meeting I consider more important (of course, all meetings are important). So, when I was called to this team meeting, I found out that I had to write a "May Day story."

April 2021 has not ended yet. As of the 24th, there have been more rainy days than sunny days, and more slacking off than actual work. Overall, it has been a very ordinary month, one that will never happen again. For May, my expectations are that there won't be as many meeting conflicts, exams won't be too difficult, and I'll have better sleep quality. After all, it's spring, and I hope it will be possible.

That's enough nonsense for now. Let's get to the point, the "Five Ones":

Speaking of the "Five Ones," this thing existed in high school, then it was called the "Five Ones Self-Improvement Project," with specific content very similar to the current one. It seems that schools or leaders are very keen on doing these things, so students have their own set of systematic methods to muddle through. But I don't want to muddle through. I don't know who will see it after I write it well, why they want to see it, and what they will think after seeing it. Since it's not just for show, I can tell the truth.

Physical exercise: Apart from physical tests and physical education classes, there's basically nothing. But one thing, the school has raised the importance of physical test scores to an unprecedented level, as if reaching a certain score can directly add a few points to GPA. The school's original intention to encourage students to participate more in physical exercise is of course a good thing, but I don't know if this decision was made unilaterally or if students' opinions were widely sought. Test scores can be repeatedly improved, physical exercise can be included in the "roll" system, I don't know if the relevant personnel are aware or pretending not to know, but making students love physical exercise is definitely not about GPA.

Problem solved: Understanding the Jacobian transformation matrix in multiple integrals substitution method made me feel quite accomplished. There are still many unsolved problems, such as engineering drawing assignments.
Public speaking: None. Due to personal reasons, it may be attributed to "social barriers."

Labor participated in: I really can't remember participating in anything. Does studying count?

Person most grateful for: (I don't know many people, so I'll thank everyone.)

That's about it for now. I'm wondering why there's no "read a book" in the "Five Ones," then I would have something to say. Even though it's not there, I'll still share the books I finished reading in April: "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry," "The Silent Patient," "The Little Paris Bookshop," "What I Talk About When I Talk About Running," "Norwegian Wood," "Notes of a Crocodile," "The Stranger," "The Little Prince in the Mountains."
