September 2022 Summary

It is now actually mid-December, and after three months of silence, I finally have time to write the monthly summary. The main reason is that I forgot, and secondly, I was too busy to write. However, as the old saying goes, it's never too late to mend the fold, writing now is better than not writing at all. Looking back to September of last year (2021), I was still immersed in the disappointment of failing courses and team matters. Now, looking back, since then until now, I haven't failed any courses again, and I smoothly retired from the team, entering a more relaxed study life in my junior year.

As per tradition, let me briefly introduce the recent holiday (referring to the date when this article should have been written). The most important holiday in October is undoubtedly National Day. On December 2, 1949, the Fourth Meeting of the Central People's Government Committee accepted the proposal of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and passed the "Resolution on the National Day of the People's Republic of China," deciding that October 1 each year would be the great day when the People's Republic of China was proclaimed established, marking National Day. As usual, there were adjustments to the holiday schedule, and the school had fewer days off, which were said to be compensated during the winter vacation (PS from 2022/12/11: it was indeed compensated during the winter vacation, but it felt a bit unfair). In short, I didn't really relax or enjoy the holiday life during this year's National Day; I remember last year I went out to play with friends when the pandemic wasn't too severe (right?), but now the situation is hard to say, and it feels like there is a trend of becoming more severe.

September, how should I put it, can be considered the first month of school, with a relatively full course schedule. At the same time, I joined Professor S's seminar, so it was quite fulfilling. Weekends were rarely free, and for various reasons, I couldn't go out to have fun; I just spent my time in the dormitory.

Um, I won't write expectations for next month, as this summary for the past three months is written later, and writing expectations would not be genuine. Looking back at September from December, I feel that time flies, but I clearly didn't realize this in September. I'll end with a passage from Lin Huiyin's "The Sorrows of August": Summer has passed, but it is not yet autumn. Yet I look at the fields and the melons on the earthen walls, still not understanding how life and dreams are intertwined.
