It is now the evening of September 12, and I am writing the summary for August 2024 in my dormitory. I can say this is a special August; my undergraduate career has ended, and I have entered a state of "studying for my master's during the day and studying to death at night." Days continue to pass at their usual pace, but as one grows older, the subjective feeling is that time seems to pass more quickly.
Picking up from where I left off, I was enjoying the last rays of summer vacation at home when suddenly a message arrived, asking me to return to work early on August 24. Thus, this somewhat boring summer vacation abruptly came to an end. Upon returning to school, everything seemed unchanged, except for a few new businesses that had opened in the west. I completed the orientation procedures, selected courses, waited for arrangements, clocked in for work... These uneventful days share a common characteristic: they make the person involved feel as if time is dragging on, yet in retrospect, the same day seems to repeat n times, making it feel particularly fast.
There have been some changes, though. For instance, I finally got a gym membership that I had decided on last semester, and a few days ago, I successfully signed up for two and a half years. Additionally, due to the numerous courses and the classrooms being spread across different areas, I had no choice but to buy a small electric scooter. Furthermore, because of the substantial subsidies on 3C products, I bought a small host. After these three expenses, my wallet has significantly slimmed down, and coupled with a meager salary, I may face a situation of poverty in September. Regardless, as a full-time student without income, it is essential to be wary of consumerism traps, manage my wallet well, and spend money wisely.
August has passed, September is here, October is not far away, and is the winter vacation far off? With such anticipation, it feels less difficult and arduous.
